W Gaines are a Commercial Auction Company. We provide to the reseller marketplace and specialise in wholesale consumer electronics, mobile phones and tablets, primarily selling new and graded stock (see our Grading Guide below for more information). We are not a retail company; therefore all sales sit outside of the standard consumer legislation.
Multiple Lots: As a commercial auctioneer, selling to resellers, some of our lots will be sold in multiples. Any Lot with a quantity of 2 or more will be listed as such under the current bid price. This means that the price bid will be multiplied by the quantity. Please read the descriptions very carefully before placing any bids.
Final Price: The price that you bid is not the final price. Some Lots will be subject to 20% VAT on the hammer price – This will be stated in the auction. All lots will be subject to our Buyers Premium which will be stated in the auction. The Buyer’s Premium will be subject to 20% VAT.
Payment: You may need to pay a deposit which will form part of your final payment and will be detailed on your invoice when we request the outstanding amount. A pro-forma invoice will be sent once the online auction has ended, which must be settled in full within 24 hours. If payment is not received within this time, additional charges may be incurred. For your own security, we do not accept payment by card or over the phone. Payments are to be made via bank transfer or other agreed methods. If you do not receive your invoice please send an email to invoices@wgaines.co.uk stating NO INVOICE in the subject line.
Lot Descriptions: Wherever possible we will use actual photos of the Lots, but we occasionally need to use stock photos. Please read the descriptions carefully before bidding and check for the quality against our Grading Guide below.
Delivery: Delivery timescale will be stated within the item description for each lot.
The cost of shipping will be stated towards the bottom of your invoice.
If items cannot be delivered it will be stated within the Lot that the item must be collected.
If someone else is collecting on your behalf, please ensure they have a copy of the invoice and you have informed us via email prior to collection that someone else will be collecting your winning lot. Within the email provide the name and contact phone number of the person making the collection.
Sold as Seen: Some items may still carry a manufacturer’s warranty, but all items are sold as seen, and (as a commercial auctioneer) we are not obliged to offer a refund on any item. We will, however, consider any issues you may have in a reasonable manner to come to a happy outcome. Please check our Grading Guide below before purchasing any item.

Grading Guide
Brand New – This is a brand new product in its original packaging
Refurbished – A premium refurbished product which is ‘like new’ and has been restored to a very high standard. Will show little signs of use and is in excellent working order.
Grade A – A premium product which will show little signs of use and is in excellent working order.
Grade B – An Excellent condition product that has minor isolated wear and tear to the front, back or sides. This product is fully functional and in excellent working order. There will be no cracks to the screen or casing.
Grade C – A used product that has signs of use. This may have moderate wear and tear to the front, back or sides. This product is fully functional but may have cracks or dents.
